One of the new products connects Palm handhelds to 802.llb WLANs and the other is a wireless residential gateway. The Palm product is an add-on card that connects Palm m500 handhelds to WLANs and was developed by Intel's Xircom subsidiary.

The Xircom Wireless LAN Module for the Palm m500 handhelds will be available in July for $299, the company said. The company already has similar products for Handspring Visor and Compaq iPAQ handhelds.

Separately, the company also announced its Intel Wireless Gateway, which connects 802.11b-enabled devices within the home to the Internet. Besides serving as an access point, it also acts as a router and firewall.

The gateway will be available in August for $299.
