Tablets: Apple Doesn't Need to Be First to Lead

Apple's iPad might not be the first, but an analyst with ABI Research says it will help define tablet computing as the market grows and matures.


A pundit once described Apple CEO Steve Jobs as having an uncanny knack for spotting a parade and jumping out in front to lead it. That was certainly the case with smartphones, where Apple has established itself as a leader among a "parade" of other established players.
